In my previous post, Should I Buy An Email List, I made a strong case against buying and emailing to a list.
I 100% stand behind that and will never support sending emails to a purchased list.
Is there a way to use a purchased list that will not completely tank your deliverability?
There is yes, but to be clear, no email will be sent to this list!
- Facebook Custom Audience
On Facebook, you can upload a list of email addresses to a custom audience. Then you can run ads to that custom audience. - LinkedIn Contact Targeting
Like Facebook, LinkedIn has the ability to upload an email list and run ads to that list. - Twitter Custom Audience
Like the previous two, Twitter allows you to upload a list of email addresses and run ads to that custom audience.
Are you beginning to see a pattern here? ;-)
Any advertising platform that allows you to upload a list of email addresses to create a custom audience would work here. I make ZERO promises on performance, but seeing as you have spent the money to buy the list in the first place, these are some ideas of how to use it without getting into trouble.
Can you think of any other way, except for sending email, that you can use a purchased list? Comment below with your suggestions, and I will update the post to include those.
